Greetings, Bates families!

The leaves are changing colors here on campus, the days are getting cooler, and students are looking ahead to the mid-semester break. While they take a moment to pause, we invite you to tune into some updates.

• Fall recess begins on Wednesday, Oct. 18 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 22. All residences will remain open, and Commons will serve brunch and dinner daily. Meals over the break are included in the board plan.
• Please remind your student of the many support resources available to them, from academic resources, to mental health supports, to options for building community.
• Bates Health Services has provided updates to the campus protocol for COVID-19. Flu shots and COVID-19 boosters will be made available to all students free of charge on Tuesday, Oct. 31 and Wednesday, Nov. 1. Students can find more information on BatesToday.
• The Bates College community looks forward to celebrating the inauguration of President Garry W. Jenkins on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023. You can watch it live on the Bates website and Bates Facebook page!
