Hello, Bates families –

Snow has arrived on campus, the final week of classes has begun, and Winter Break is just around the corner. We’d like to provide you with some important reminders for the end of the semester.

• Classes for the fall semester end this Friday, Dec. 8, and exams run from Tuesday, Dec. 12 to Monday, Dec. 18. Residence halls will close at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
• While dinner on Monday, Dec. 18 is the last meal included in the board plan, Commons will continue to operate with limited service on Dec. 19 and Jan. 2–9. Students who dine in Commons over this period will be charged $10 per meal or can use any guest swipes that remain on their account.
• As students make their travel plans, they can use this resource from Campus Safety to find transportation options from campus to Portland and Boston.
• Students may return to their residence halls between Sunday, Jan. 7–Tuesday, Jan. 9. The first included meal on the board plan will be dinner on Tuesday, Jan. 9, and classes begin on Wednesday, Jan. 10.

As students process the events of the semester while preparing for finals, please encourage them to reach out for support through academic support resources as well as counseling and psychological services. If your student isn’t sure where to start, their Student Support Advisor (SSA) is always a good resource and sounding board.
