Hello, Bates Class of 2025 Families –

We are excited to let you know that Bates has just announced the 2025 honorands!

The following individuals will receive honorary degrees from Bates on Sunday, May 25 at the Class of 2025’s Commencement ceremony:

• Angela Duckworth, Author of Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance, professor of psychology
• Mary Bonauto, civil rights attorney
• Stanley Nelson, award-winning documentary filmmaker
• Deval Patrick,  former governor of Massachussetts

Angela Duckworth will deliver the Bates College Commencement address. The Class of 2025 senior speaker has not yet been announced.
