Dear Bates Families,

Spring is finally arriving in Lewiston—the days are getting brighter, the snow is melting, and students are headed into the final stretch of the semester. We wanted to check in with a few helpful updates and reminders during this exciting, and often busy, time of year.

• Final exams will take place Tuesday, April 15–Monday, April 21. Students who are not staying for Short Term will need to move out of their residence halls by Tuesday, April 22 at 5 p.m.
• Short Term begins April 28 and allows students to focus deeply on a single course, research project, or off-campus experience. One unique offering is classes led by experienced professionals who bring real-world insight into the classroom. These courses help students connect their liberal arts education to life beyond Bates, offering valuable exposure to fields such as finance, healthcare, technology, and the arts.
• Materials for families with students applying for financial aid renewal are due Wednesday, May 1. Questions can be sent to the Student Financial Services team at sfs@bates.edu.

As students balance final papers, projects, and plans for what’s next, they can turn to the many support resources available on campus. Whether they need a space to focus, a second set of eyes on a paper, or just a reminder that they’re not alone, Bates has a range of options to help them finish the semester strong.
