Greetings from campus!

We wanted to share some important updates for families of incoming students:

• All incoming students have received an update about health protocols for arrival on campus. Please encourage students to read this information carefully.
• Students must sign the health agreements for the academic year via Garnet Gateway by August 17. You can read an overview of the health agreements here. These agreements are required to remain enrolled in courses and to remain in college housing.
• Remember that all Bates students must enroll in or waive the Student Health Insurane Plan (SHIP) each year via Garnet Gateway. Doing so by the August 27 deadline will avoid unnecessary charges. 
• Health protocols for drop-off day are still being finalized. In the meantime, whether your student will arrive early as part of an athletic team or the Bobcat First cohort, or whether they will arrive with most of the class on August 31, we encourage you to check the latest version of the campus visitor policy.

Finally, we hope you are saving the dates of Sept. 30-Oct. 1 for Back to Bates: Family Weekend. We continue to add details to the schedule and look forward to opening registration later this month.
