In October, a “welcome to Bates” message, might have been more appropriate. After ten months in Maine, you must feel like a veteran. Thank you for all you have already done, especially guiding the college through the grief after the shooting and the welcome you gave to the Lewiston community. I wish you every good fortune possible as President and hope that the place of the arts will expand during your tenure. I am one of many who danced for Marcy Plavin as a 3year student entering with the class of 1974. I also worked in Lewiston schools
as a school counselor 2002-2006 before working in Scarborough schools through 2018. Your energy and smile assure all alumni that you are a “good fit” at Bates. Congratulations!
