show map The Cities of Lewiston and Auburn, Maine, plus friends are honoring former two city Mayor and State Senator, John Jenkins ’74, on Friday, June 10th, and Saturday, June 11th, 2022 in Lewiston. This is also Bates College’s Alumni Weekend.
- On Friday, June 10th, The Jenkins Memorial Bridge will be dedicated in honor of John Jenkins ’74. Festivities are due to start at 3 pm EST at Simard-Payne Park, which is at 46 Beech Street in Lewiston, Maine. The Bridge Dedication is scheduled for 5:30 pm EST.
- On Saturday, June 11th @ 2 pm, there will be a Memorial Service remembering John Jenkins ’74 at the Lewiston Armory. During the Memorial Event, Dr. Chuck Radis ’75 will be signing his new book about John. Dr. Radis and the Bates College John Jenkins Scholarship Committee have worked for more than one year to gather stories, pictures, and mementos from John’s life and career. Proceeds will go to the Bates College John Jenkins Scholarship Fund.
