About Science Resource Support Services
Bates is committed to the success of every student. The Bates academic program is challenging, and the College has many resources designed to support student learning. The academic support staff enhances the work of the science departments at Bates.
Science Resource Support Services (SRSS) supports the activities of the science departments and programs in our multi-building system. Bonney Science Center, Carnegie Science Hall and Dana Hall are home to most of the teaching and research labs used by Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Physics & Astronomy, Earth and Climate Sciences, Neuroscience, and Environmental Studies.
SRSS staff maintain the stockrooms in the three buildings and help with ordering equipment and supplies. We also help departments and programs and individuals with research funds and managing their budgets. Chemical safety, microscopy facilities, the Carnegie greenhouse, and the vivarium are also overseen by SRSS staff.
If you need help with a project or task or are in need of something and don’t know where to start, contact Science Resource Support Services.
