Employee Engagement at Bates
In the Spring of 2023, the College committed to launching a comprehensive employee engagement program which began with input sessions in April of 2023. More than 200 employees participated, sharing their thoughts so the College can better understand where current practices and policies promote employee engagement and where there is work to do.
Employee Working Group
An employee working group has been formed to provide input and guidance to shape a comprehensive staff survey that will take place in the Spring of 2024. Given the unique characteristics of faculty and staff work, faculty will be surveyed using a separate instrument that allows us to benchmark against previous faculty surveys. The Dean of Faculty will communicate more about that survey in the coming months.
Monthly email communications to the campus community will provide updates on the progress of the broad scope of work taking place to forward this employee engagement initiative. You can access previous messages here.
