Drop-In Tutors work in the Student Academic Support Center as specialists who support learners in a particular part of the curriculum, helping Bates students to reach their academic goals through mentorship and guidance. They work regular weekly hours in SASC, supporting learners in a walk-in setting, and may support the facilitation of regular review sessions for students in the course. Drop-In Tutors are also provided with support in their growth as educators; they attend regular trainings (both pre-semester and in-term) on relevant areas of peer tutoring pedagogy, and are closely mentored by the SASC staff.
We are seeking applicants who can support courses in Biology, Chemistry, DCS, Economics, Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Physics, Statistics (in any department) and Learning Strategies.
Our priority deadline for applications for Drop-In Tutor and Course Attached Tutor Roles is March 1st, 2024. Please apply by then to ensure full consideration of your application!
