OAC Sound Studio Assistant (S99824)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Olin 302 Sound Studio Assistant is responsible for helping maintain the organization and technical functionality of three workspaces located in Olin 302. The student employee should have interest in problem solving, taking initiative, and strong communication skills. Experience with technical equipment (computing, audio/visual) is greatly beneficial. Training for the tech in Olin 302 will be provided upon hiring. This position includes light organization of gear and cleaning of spaces such that they are welcoming and ready for student use, as well as technical troubleshooting. The student employee will also assist students with technical issues on a limited basis.

Note: The employee should not be currently enrolled in MUS 218 or DCMU219 at the time of employment.

Responsibilities:

General studio maintenance, light cleaning and organization, technical upkeep (being sure computers and gear is in working order), maintaining a few student-help hours per week. Occasional lifting of items no heavier than 30 lbs may be asked of students for whom this is safe for their health.
