Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Working with an existing document the student will systematically go through teaching labs and similar spaces to update equipment locations and verify all identifying information (model, serial numbers, Bates asset tags, etc.). New equipment information may need to be added to the document and asset tags assigned. We will develop a schedule with faculty and staff who utilize the lab spaces and the equipment in those spaces to avoid disrupting their work. Student hours will be flexible as long as they fit within the developed schedule of lab availability.

Requirements

Attention to detail is required. Having some lab experience or familiarity with the equipment used in science labs would be helpful. The student should know how to use Microsoft Excel at a basic level and be able to work independently or with another person. Student will need to be able to bend or reach repeatedly to pull equipment (20lbs Maximum) from cupboards or shelves. Training will be provided on actual process.

Reporting

Reports to and works closely with Sonya Locke. May need to work with another student at times. May need to work with faculty and staff in Bonney and Carnegie to coordinate the inventory of shared spaces.
