CPW: Bobcat Ventures Program Coordinator (S99769)
Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Bobcat Ventures(BV) Program Coordinator will collaborate closely with Purposeful Work (PW) staff to promote, market, and plan BV programming. Duties will include creating communication plans, creating marketing messages to promote across campus, recruiting participants, and assisting with event planning. The BV program is a multi-month workshop series that culminates in the Bobcat Ventures Pitch Competition. The Program Coordinator will participate in bi-weekly planning meetings, attend workshops, and assist with planning and hosting the Pitch Competition. The bulk of the work will occur between October and April. This on-campus position is available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors from any major.
***Note: Students hired for this role will not be able to compete in the Bobcat Ventures Pitch Competition. This rule is in place to respect the integrity of the competition. If you apply for this role and are not hired, you are still eligible to participate in the competition. |

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Assist the Purposeful Work Bobcat Ventures Staff in marketing, recruitment, and program planning.
Attend bi-weekly planning meetings and BV workshops throughout the academic year
Attend recruiting events such as the campus club fair and promote BV through various recruitment methods including promoting to student clubs and tabling in Commons.
Responsible for regular communication with BV students to keep participants updated on workshops, resources, and events.
Assist in planning and promoting the annual “Bobcat Ventures Pitch Competition”
Work with PW Communications Coordinator to create marketing materials and social media posts
Coordinate with PW staff to regularly provide updates for alumni supporting the program
Requirements
Required:
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (strong writing, editing, spelling and grammatical skills are a must)
Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals
Enthusiasm about entrepreneurship
Sophomore/Junior/Senior (First years not eligible for this position)
Preferred:
Prior participation in the Bobcat Ventures program
Experience with entrepreneurship
Experience with event planning
Experience with marketing and communications
Reporting
Reports to Blake Edwards in the Center for Purposeful Work. Will coordiante program activities with the Bobcat Ventures team (Blake Edwards, Marianne Cowan, Marisela Flores Pineda)
Working Conditions
Student will work primrily out of Chase Hall Suite 101, Commons, and remotely. No travel, no required program knowledge.
