Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
Summary Of Position:
The Purposeful Work Office Assistants collaborate closely with professional staff to provide premium customer service to students, alumni, employers, and other constituents. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students to develop communication, marketing and organizational skills, and to gain an understanding of the Purposeful Work career and internship resources, services, and opportunities. Successful applicants will be hired by May, with a possible brief training over Short Term with an official start when you return for the fall semester in September. This position is open to students of all class years, majors, and interests.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
*Greet visitors with exemplary customer service when covering the front desk
*Schedule student/alumni appointments
*Check students in for Drop-Ins
*Assist PW Peer Advisors and PW staff with the flow of Drop-Ins
*Approve job and internship positions in the Handshake database
*Post job and internship positions in the Handshake database
*Maintain strict confidentiality
*Copy and collate projects
*Provide on campus pickups and deliveries
*Hang posters around campus
*Represent the Center at events (as needed)
*Other tasks as assigned
Other duties and desired attributes include:
*Assist in developing and implementing marketing strategies for Center events, provide advice on student trends and publicity methods to reach target audiences.
*Collaborate with the PW staff to provide support for a wide range of everyday office tasks, special projects, and events
*Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, attention to detail, and a good sense of humor
Requirements
Qualities needed:
*Confidentiality, reliability, attention to detail and professionalism
*Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (strong writing, editing, spelling and grammatical skills are a must)
*Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals
*Demonstrate flexibility and creativity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
*Have a high proficiency in technology (Handshake, Word, Excel, Internet, social media); ability to learn new techniques and databases quickly
*Abundance of enthusiasm
