ADM: SIA Coordinator (S99762)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

SIA Coordinators are the leaders of the Students in Admissions (SIA) program in the Office of Admission, and provide direct support in overseeing all other members of SIA – including tour guides and senior fellows. SIA Coordinators wear many hats as the SIA Co-Directors ‘go-to’ students, with responsibilities included but not limited to: assisting in the hiring and training of tour guides and senior fellows, providing ongoing management and training of SIA members, organizing regularly scheduled and special tours and info sessions, and facilitating virtual SIA participation in panels and other virtual events. If you have worked in Admissions before, are seeking a leadership role, and/or are extremely passionate about not just prospective student outreach, recruitment, and access at Bates, but also the quality with which our Bobcats represent our school – then this is an ideal opportunity for you!

SIA Coordinators work collaboratively and meet regularly with the SIA Co-Directors, other SIA Coordinators, and the Senior Fellow cohort. Each Coordinator will be the ‘team leader’ to a randomly assigned ‘team’ of tour guides and fellows, managing their members and assisting with ongoing training. Coordinators will also be expected to interface with prospective families via email and phone, and may co-lead tours or sit on panels. This position requires enormous flexibility, responsibility, creativity, collaboration and a sense of leadership. Coordinators are essential to the work of the Admissions Office at Bates and we strongly encourage students of all backgrounds, faiths, lived experiences, academic areas, graduation years, and cultures to apply.
