Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

MOSAIC Bates Alumni seeks to build community among our underrepresented racial, ethnic, LGBTQIA+, first-generation, and international alumni. The Alumni Engagement MOSAIC Student Fellow will play an integral student leadership role to help build and promote MOSAIC initiatives on campus focused on connecting students to alumni. This student fellow will help with building a community amongst alumni and students. This position will include developing programs, creating on-campus promotional materials, entering data, and serving as a liaison to students on campus. This is an excellent position for someone interested in building community.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities

Responsibilities


Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: -Assist with the promotion of MOSAIC programs and events across campus -Represent the department and engage with participants at events -Develop MOSAIC programming, bringing new ideas on how to engage with both virtual and in-person events -Contribute creative and innovative ideas for how to promote MOSAIC programs through digital, in-person, and print marketing tactics -Connect and establish relationships with on-campus MOSAIC groups -Engage in the MOSAIC Bates Bridge Groups -Actively encourage and recruit Bates Students to attend MOSAIC programs -Provide office assistance, which may include: printing, entering data, and organizing mailings -Other tasks and projects as needed

Requirements


The ideal candidate possesses an enthusiasm for the Bates MOSAIC Alumni initiative, a willingness to learn, exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, an ability to work with confidential information, and an ability to work effectively with and promote MOSAIC to a diverse range of students. Prior experience or basic knowledge of customer service, Google Suite, Bates Bridge, and Canva are preferred, but not required.

This position requires working closely with Alumni Engagement staff, but will also work with alumni and students.
