Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Advancement Digital Engagement Intern assists with a wide variety of communication and digital marketing-related projects for the Advancement team, with a particular concentration on curating digital content, as well as creating and editing video and photography to enhance social media presence and engagement (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter). The ultimate result is to help alumni feel more connected to Bates by drawing a link between how their own Bates experience has impacted their lives and careers since Bates.
The Digital Engagement Intern must be able to assimilate ideas into a creative digital media product (primarily vertical video and photography) that meets the expressed desired outcome. The candidate will work on a per-project basis to create vertical video recordings primarily for use on TikTok and other social media platforms. Additionally, the candidate will help curate authentic videos and photography of on-campus activities and share footage that vlogs aspects of their personal Bates experience. Creativity, videography, photography, editing, communication skills, and attention to detail are required. They must also possess practical and working knowledge of social media and be enthusiastic about Bates College.

Responsibilities


Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: -The Digital Engagement Intern must uphold media and communications guidelines for Bates College. -Help strategize, outline, implement, and edit vertical video projects. -Other tasks and projects as needed -The Digital Engagement Intern must maintain clear and reliable communication with project leaders with regard to design specifications, progress, and deadlines.

Requirements


Environment: Campus Machines Equipment: Video Equipment & video editing software, social media REQUIRED: EXPERIENCE: The applicant must have demonstrated experience and competency with videography, photography, editing software, and social media platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram. DESIRED: EDUCATION: Videography, photography, marketing, and/or online media. Rhetoric, Film and Screen Studies. Qualifications: Must have some filming and editing experience.
