Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

The Bates Fund Ambassador team connects current students with alumni and parents to raise philanthropic support for the Bates Fund. Ambassadors call, text, and write alumni and parents to update contact information, chat about what’s happening on campus, and to ask for gifts for Bates. As a supervisor, you will provide oversight during work sessions. This includes providing support to the ambassadors to do their work to the best of their ability. Tasks will include things such as preparing spreadsheets of call lists, trouble-shooting technological difficulties, providing coaching to ambassadors when needed, and answering any questions that arise during .

Your work as helps ensure that future generations of Bates students are provided with enriching opportunities, like the ones that you’ve enjoyed!

The program operates for four weeks per semester, during the fall and winter semesters. Calling shifts are held Monday through Wednesday evenings 6:30- 8:30pm and students are required to work a minimum of one shift per week. Since ambassadors may be one of the few contacts that a particular alum or parent has with the school, each ambassador has the responsibility to be as professional and courteous as possible. Performance will be evaluated by staff manager on a regular basis.

You will receive paid training to learn how to become a successful Bates Fund Ambassador. As an ambassador, you will gain invaluable experience in fundraising, which is applicable to any field post-graduation!
