Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Advancement Digital Engagement Lead Intern assists with a wide variety of communication and digital marketing-related projects for the Advancement team. This role has a particular concentration on curating digital content and enhancing social media presence and engagement (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok), including supervising a handful of other interns who serve as content creators for our accounts. The ultimate result is to help alumni feel more connected to Bates by drawing a connection between how the Bates experience (unique for each person) has impacted their life and career since Bates.
The Digital Engagement Lead Intern must be able to assimilate ideas into creative digital media content that meets the expressed desired outcome. The candidate will work on a per-project basis for larger projects, such as interviews and start-to-finish digital event recordings. Additionally, the candidate will work on a weekly basis helping to curate authentic content relatable to alumni for social media. This includes helping to manage our digital content interns by leading weekly meetings, organizing and coordinating shoots and acting as a point of contact for the group for students who might need additional guidance.
Monthly reporting to track content performance and analyze results. Creativity, videography, photography, editing, communication skills, attention to detail, and social media trends are required. They must also possess practical and working knowledge of social media and be enthusiastic about Bates College.

The Digital Engagement Intern must help uphold media and communications guidelines for Bates College.
Help create video project(s) that may at times be polished or more authentic/candid depending on the audience and need.
Record and edit campus events to share live and/or through various digital channels.
Help curate weekly content (video, photography and stories) for the alumni social media post calendar: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube.
Other tasks and projects as needed
Serve as the lead intern for our group of digital content creators- by leading meetings, organizing and implementing ideas, and acting as a resource and leader within the group.
The Digital Engagement Intern must maintain clear and reliable communication with project leaders with regard to design specifications, progress, and deadlines.
Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: The applicant must have demonstrated experience and competency with videography, photography, editing software, and social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have previous filming and editing experience.
