Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Arts Social Media Coordinator strategizes for, creates content, posts and manages Bates Arts Collaborative’s social media presence. The Arts Social Media Coordinator will lead BAC’s efforts “to elevate the arts on campus and in our community, to advocate the importance of experiencing and bringing the arts into our daily lives, and to celebrate the artistic achievements of our students, faculty and local community.” This person will build partnerships and co-create social media content with other arts groups on campus and the greater arts community. They will promote IMPACT 21st, the Winter Arts Festival and other BAC sponsored programs.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Working with the Chair & AAA of BAC, remain current with trends in social media, making recommendations for content strategy on existing channels, and/or creation of presence on new channels.
-Create original, authentic, high-quality content for prospective student audiences.
-Monitor the college’s social media channels on a daily basis.
-Work with other communicators across campus to ensure all arts and culture social media channels are following best practices and supporting one another.
-Build and maintain a content calendar.
-Identify compelling arts and culture stories college wide.
-Initiate innovative ideas for digital marketing efforts.
Requirements
-Up to date on the latest trends and developments in social media marketing.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, branding, digital marketing.
- Ability to think strategically about BAC's identity and marketing strategies.
- Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling software and deep knowledge of social media platforms is required.
