MOA: Life Model (S9671X)

Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities

This position provides the subject of study for weekly figure drawing sessions organized by the Bates College Museum of Art. The Life Model is responsible for striking and holding a variety of poses including, but not necessarily limited to standing, sitting, and reclining, with or without input from participating artists.

Please Note: All physiques are welcome and poses are nude.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Delineation of the three to five major job responsibilities)
  1. Quick poses
Three to five minute poses stressing action, torsion, extension of limbs, and other difficult body positions.
  1. Short Poses
Ten to fifteen minute poses similar to above, but less strenuous to hold.
  1. Long poses
Ninety minute or longer poses (with breaks), often stressing contraposto, multiple planes, dramatic gesture.
