Summary, Scope, and Responsibilities
The Campus Life Student Office Assistant supports the daily operations and projects of Campus Life. Student Office Assistants work on a regular, weekly basis, and are a frontline point of contact for students with Campus Life and club/organization needs, especially after regular Campus Life Office hours.

This position requires working with a variety of Campus Life professional staff and club/organization leaders. Additionally, Office Assistants must be able to communicate with Campus Life Staff when they need support or additional resources for a task.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
The Student Office Assistant is responsible for:
•Maintaining Campus Life club and organization storage spaces, supporting groups in accessing the spaces, and ensuring groups adhere to the Campus Life Storage Policy
•Overseeing Campus Life shared spaces such as Little Room, ensuring these space remain functional and well stocked with needed supplies
•Managing check out of Campus Life resources include Campus Life Credit Cards, Keys for spaces, and other share club/organization items
•Administrating Booqable, Campus Life’s rental system, completing checkouts/check ins, ensuring the system is up to date, and troubleshooting when there are issues with the system
•Processing and approving payment requests submitted by clubs and organizations through Bates Engage
•Supporting the filing of club and organization forms such as movie request forms
•Providing after hours support for Campus Life operations
Other projects and logistical tasks as assigned
Requirements
•Must be organized, responsible, personable, enthusiastic and able to work well with others.
•Must be able and willing to work with a diverse group of students and staff.
•Must be able to respond to office communications within 24 hours except under special circumstances.
•Should have an exceptional ability to multitask and engage in time management.
•Must be able to adhere to established project deadlines.
•While not required, familiarity with rental systems and data management systems is a plus
Reporting
The Student Office Assistant reports to Campus Life staff. Student Office Assistants will work closely with the Campus Life AmeriCorps VISTA/Civic Leadership Fellow.
Working Conditions
The Student Office Assistant is expected to be present in the Campus Life Office during their regularly assigned shift time. Officer Assistants are provided a designated desk and office chair in the Campus Life space, however they must provide their own computer for their shift tasks. Student Office Assistants are at times expected to move around Chase Hall to open club spaces or address student needs in the Campus Life spaces.
